Teach. Learn. Evolve.

I am a passionate and enthusiastic teacher. My yoga path began with Bikram Yoga. I practiced it for 7 years before becoming certified to teach. The Bikram sequence is from Hatha Yoga, and a subsequent 500-hr Hatha training deepened my understanding of the physical and philosophical aspects of Yoga. I have expanded my yoga knowledge and am exploring the  neuroscience of yoga and the effects of trauma on the body-mind:

'The issues live in our tissues' and 'our biography becomes our biology'

I recognise my own Adverse Childhood Experiences, and how my ACE Score has impacted upon my life. Training in Y12SR - yoga for addiction recovery, and TCTSY - Trauma Centre Trauma Sensitive Yoga has led me to work with some of the most disadvantaged members of society; I welcome them to my classes.

Restore. Re-energise. Rejuvenate.

Teaching enables me to demonstrate that yoga can be a means to express yourself no matter where you have been or where you are from. I wasn’t sure what I was looking for when I first walked in to a studio but I found a lift in energy that kept me going back, and I felt stronger and calmer. I began as a devoted Bikram student. More recently my teaching, training and self study have found me centring on Vinyasa and Yin.

'People turn up to chill out, to heal, the list is endless - no right or wrong'

The common motivation is that it makes life better on some level. This is a practice open to all of us and a reminder that we are naturally strong and have the power to move in different ways.

Embodied. Accessibility. Inclusivity.

Yoga has been and continues to be, a vital tool in my own healing journey. While navigating a challenging time in my life

"I turned to yoga as a way to connect with myself and found it supported my mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing".

Feeling drawn to learn more about this ancient practice and share yoga with others, I undertook my 200 hour yoga teacher training in 2019 and in 2020 began studying trauma sensitive yoga and completed my restorative yoga studies in 2022.

I'm interested in how embodied practices like yoga support people to experience a greater sense of bodily autonomy and agency and a greater sense of ease in their daily lives.

Calm. Balance. Resilience.

My journey with Yoga began a while ago, and last year I decided to take the next step and gain my teaching qualifications.

In April 2022 I obtained an Instructor certificate to teach Slavic Yoga. I am currently completing a traditional yoga certification with Origym.

Both Traditional Yoga and the Slavic version require much focus, balance (emotional also :)) and core strength and these are the qualities I encourage in the classes I teach.

‘Practice taught me to be calm in the craziest of storms outside'

Training daily keeps me balanced and flexible to what the universe offers me each day.

I have been teaching SY as well as Hatha Yoga @HYWE since May 2022 and I have taught over 30 classes so far.

Connecting. Grounding. Listening.

I came to Yoga in 2018 as a way of managing stress during my studies. I was always interested in fitness, yet this was the first time I really felt connected to my body through movement.

Although Yoga is a physical practice, I knew I was not continuously returning to class for a workout.

I like to teach dynamic Vinyasa flows that help students reconnect to their bodies, and to feel strong and empowered, both on and off the mat.

"my classes help people fall back in love with movement, focusing on what our amazing bodies can do rather than what they look like."

I believe yoga is for everybody. Although my classes are strong and often fast-paced, I welcome beginners and always encourage students to rest if they need to, and to find modifications in postures that suit their unique body.

Discipline. Determination. Growth.

My yoga journey began a couple of years ago, with Ashtanga Yoga, which I loved for the structured approach.

After a little D-tour towards a more relaxed Vinayasa, I decided to come back to structure (and discipline!), and hence the adventure with Bikram Yoga started.

I think that yoga can be practiced by anyone and everyone, and I decided to get my teaching qualifications to be able to spread the good!

To me Bikram yoga is not only about the warmth, but mainly about the discipline and facing yourself each time you practice, deepening the focus and concentration.

"Discipline eats motivation for breakfast"

As a researcher at heart, I enjoy learning and expanding my knowledge about the benefits of the practice – expect to learn along, during your classes with me!

Concentration. Discipline. Transcendence.

     专注                  纪律          超越

I began Original Hot Yoga in 2018 as a way to deal with the stress of my academic expectations.

I entered what Bikram Choudhury, Founder of Bikram Yoga, named the "torture chamber" only with a mat, a towel, and water.

"Every time, I focus solely on each asana, paying no attention to anything else.  I immersed myself entirely in yoga."

I discovered that yoga is more than just being healthy and energising yourself; it's also about overcoming anxiety and fear.

The approach to practicing yoga is a great approach to creating a joyful life. Grab your mat, towel, and water, and let's find it out.

Strength. Wilpower. Self-love

My Original Hot Yoga journey began back in 2019 when my new year resolution was to take better care of my body and mind.

I wanted my body to become stronger and find the mental strength to deal with daily stress. From the first class, I was immediately hooked.

The heat does so much good for your body, no more sore muscles or joints and you can really challenge your body. It is also incredible what regular practice does for the mind.

‘Every time I practice in the hot room it’s just me having to deal with only myself. My body and mind get my full attention for 90 minutes.’

Your willpower to deal with the heat and to push yourself in that posture just that little bit more than last time helps build a strong mind, a mind that can deal with any challenges in daily life.

As an Original Hot Yoga yogi, you feel part of a community. When I was suggested to do the teacher training, I was honoured as teaching Original Hot yoga enables me to inspire others and guide them in their Hot Yoga journey.
