Hot Yoga West End is excited and delighted to have received official approval from the Original Hot Yoga Association (OHYA) to deliver teacher training, in person at our studio in Partick, Glasgow, Scotland, UK.
Training to teach Original Hot (Bikram method) Yoga represents a special time in your life, learning about yourself and this incredible yoga, while you grow - personally and professionally. Our training is designed around full-time work.
Across and intensive 4-month period, candidates are required to demonstrate an open mind and a willingness to accept constructive feedback in their quest to teach Original Hot Yoga and contribute to the longevity of the practice.
Practicing at least 3 classes per week is mandatory. Candidates will attend Original Hot Yoga classes at 6-7.30pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, while weekend training provides immersion in theory.
Theory includes posture labs, anatomy/physiology; lectures and professional development. Two formal assessments at 50% of the way through the programme and again at 75% of the way through the course.
Training includes a mandatory intensive weekend in Balloch, West Dunbartonshire, commencing at 4pm on the evening of Friday, September 2nd until 8pm on Sunday 4th September in preparation for assessment.

As an OHYA Approved Teacher Training, we are offering our trainees a strong future for Original Hot (Bikram) Yoga while honouring all the best qualities of the past. While integrating the positive aspects of the old school training, our programme delivers respect, collaboration, professionalism, a high level of discipline, a strong work ethic and clear boundaries.
Part of our programme includes graduates joining the OHYA Teacher Directory as Interns the week of graduation. Graduates complete an internship of teaching 75 classes. Interns record their classes and have them signed off by the studio owner in order to advance to an Original Hot Yoga Level 1 teacher, qualified to teach at any OHY studio in the world.
OHYA views internships as an essential step to becoming an effective teacher. Graduates can choose to complete their internship at Hot Yoga West End or any other OHYA partner studio. Hot Yoga West End's Mentorship programme provides ongoing support for Interns until all 75 classes have been taught. The fee for this essential step in your teaching journey is £500.
Trainees will receive the OHYA Teacher Trainee Code of Ethics.
An agreement between the trainee and principal Hot Yoga West End Training Leader will be signed by both parties.
The agreement outlines timelines and expectations around graduation, including pre-training work, study and reading.
Graduates join the OHYA private Facebook page and connect with other OHY and certified Bikram Yoga teachers worldwide.
