Original Hot Yoga FAQs

Buying and booking

Is Bikram Yoga also called something else?

Yes. Hot 90

Can I pay at the studio?

Please book and buy your pass online via our prices page. We recommend the £20 per week auto renew, which offers unlimited classes. Aim for 2-3 per week.

Can I buy a single class?

Yes, a drop-in is also £20. Or get it for half-price for the 6.15am classes only.

Taking a class

I’m a beginner. Will I be able to do it?

Yes! We were all beginners at one time. We usually have beginners in every class. You will find the first class a little tough while you adjust to the heat and postures. You will improve quickly and begin to feel the benefits.

But I'm not flexible!

Then Bikram Yoga is the one for you! Sports people (Andy Murray, Ryan Gigs, David Beckham, Glasgow Rangers first team player – and runners) use Bikram to soften their muscles and tendons – especially the hamstrings - and prevent injury.

What if the heat is too much?

22

We use wonderful FIR (Far Infared) technology to heat the yoga room, via panels attached to the ceiling. It boosts the circulation and heals old injuries. It's not 'blowy heat', which heats the air and your skin. FIT works from the inside out, heating the body but not the surrounding air. You will sweat - in a good way! You'll quickly get used to it and form a new healthy habit.

What you'll need

Do I bring stuff, or get it from the studio?

  • · You need a mat. Bring your own, or hire one for £2, or buy one for £25
  • · You need a large towel for your mat. Bring one or hire one for £3
  • · You need water for little sips during the class. Bring it or buy a cold one for £2
  • · If you want a shower, you can bring a separate shower towel, or hire one for £3

What should I wear?

As little as possible. You will sweat. Crop top or vest, and leggings or shorts is best for girls; shorts and vest, or no top is best for guys. Cotton t-shirts and baggy bottoms do not work.

Anything else I should know?

Please don't be late for your very first class. Arrive 10 minutes before to get organised. The teacher will give important instructions right at the start, to help you.
